Partner Classes
Partner classes teach your home or birth partner ways in which they can help you throughout your pregnancy as well as labour and delivery.
They will learn simple massage and exercise techniques to use at home and in the hospital to help you stay calm, relaxed and in control.
Get used to working with the birthing ball so that you can use it throughout your pregnancy and labour - an invaluable tool throughout!
These classes are also an excellent way to get Dad more involved in the pregnancy from an early stage as well as making the experience one you can share together.
In the early stages...
Working with specific shiatsu pressure points and reflexes in the body we can help with the symptoms of morning sickness, nausea and vomiting.
Having an environment where you can focus on yourself, your baby and your pregnancy can help you cope better with the changes that you are going through. Whether it's hormonal, emotional, physcial or simply having the time to stop, relax and process all those thoughts, your session can give you a caring and supportive enviornment to come to terms with these events.
Reducing your stress levels during the early stages of pregnancy ensures the healthiest environment for your new baby to develop. Each session is focussed on what you need to achieve this.
During each session we focus on learning exercises, techniques and tips that will help you get maintain your health and mobility throughout your pregnancy.

As your pregnancy progresses....
Hormonal changes in your body cause your muscles and ligaments to soften to allow you to cope with your growing baby and to prepare your body for birth, this takes it's toll on your body as you may not have the same strength and stability that you are used to. Extra weight means extra pressure on joints, bones and muscles and aches and pains can make you uncomfortable during your daily activities and more importantly at night.
Many women suffer from Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP, formerly know as SPD) which can be debilitating if left untreated. However advice and techniques on how to manage this painful condition can drastically improve your quality of life during pregnancy and help you rehabilitate quicker following birth.
Regular massage and relaxation helps the body cope with this physical change as well as working on specific parts of your body that may be causing you discomfort. Exercises and other techniques can help you at home and work to minimise pain and discomfort.
As your baby grows you may find it more difficult to get a good nights sleep which can slow you down during the day. Reflex points, massage and relaxation can help sleep patterns and provide you with the time you need to re-energise and recuperate.
As you get closer to the end of your pregnancy the sessions will begin to look at ways in which you can prepare for labour and birth from exercises, birthing positions and pain relief techniques.
